🐞 SPFx v1.23.1 deprecated - v1.23.0 latest for production usage

There's an issue in the SPFx v1.23.1 which is blocking development for new project. Please use the 1.23 version as the workaround. You can install 1.23 version with following command.

npm install -g @microsoft/generator-sharepoint@1.23.0

If you have an option to open up ICM with Microsoft - please do so - that will speed up the long-term resolution of this issue. 🙏 Not quite optimal, but a way for everyone to move forward with this as fast as possible with long term resolution.

Issue is known and will be addressed to default build as soon as possible.

We have now deprecated v1.23.1 version from npm and latest available version is v1.23.0 which can be installed now simply as follows:

npm install -g @microsoft/generator-sharepoint

Notice that as @latest tag was pointing to the 1.23.1, using it does not currently work. This will be resolved with the upcoming releases as we get it back normally to the latest in-production version.

We do apologize this issue and inconvenience it might have caused. Root cause was a dependency issue with the 1P (in-product) version which was not foreseen as the 1.23.1 was published.

We will keep this now open as pinned issue until the next version is out. Just to avoid any confusion on this and to ensure that the status is clearly shared.
