SPFx + heft @microsoft/generator-sharepoint@1.23.1 does not work.

does not work:
@microsoft/generator-sharepoint@1.23.1
node v22.17.0

All I get is 'Something went wrong' 'object object' message with SPFx components!
and nothing valuable in the console log!

works:
@microsoft/generator-sharepoint@1.21.1
node v22.17.0

Thanks for the raising the issue @brayjosh.

As also mentioned in #10891, it looks like documentation for @microsoft/generator-sharepoint@1.23.1 is still not published in the official SPFx compatibility matrix:

Given that 1.23.1 seems to introduce this behavior, could you please also verify whether the issue is reproducible with 1.23.0 / 1.23.x earlier builds or 1.23.0?
Reverting to 1.23.0 should resolve the problem, so it may indicate a regression in 1.23.1.

@Ashlesha-MSFT Hi, I can confirm that reverting to 1.23.0 fixes the issue. I had scaffolded a new minimal web part using 1.23.1 yeoman generator and got the error I posted on #10891 - when I changed the dependency versions in the same project to 1.23.0 and reinstalled dependencies, the web part started working.

This is a known issue currently with the 1.23.1 version. Workaround is to use 1.23 version. You can install the 1.23 version using following command:

npm install -g @microsoft/generator-sharepoint@1.23.0

We are working on more long term resolution for this issue.

v1.23.1 is now removed (deprecated) from npm - and default version is 1.23.0. See more from #10905.
