Version 4.0.0 is less responsive than earlier versions. Zooming in and out - and sometimes when panning - is more jerky. When zooming right in or out the picture stalls for a second or two before jumping to the correct zoom level. This is for a moderately sized jpeg image (about 15,000 pixels square) saved locally.
Accessing an image from my slow network leads to this version being even more unresponsive - stalling for longer and often crashing.
When run from the command line this error warning sometimes appears:
Gdk-WARNING **: 11:07:27.138: vkAcquireNextImageKHR(): A swapchain no longer matches the surface properties exactly, but can still be used to present to the surface successfully. (VK_SUBOPTIMAL_KHR) (1000001003)
